Patrick Gubitose
10U A Head Coach
The 26-27 season will mark Patrick Gubitose’s 9th year coaching at Hyland Hills. As a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, Patrick has been getting the best out players by building confidence, connecting and relating with them, and utilizing the strengths of his coaching staff. With 5 years of experience as head coach of teams from 8U to 12U, he consistently reminds the players and parents that team success relies on the combination of Fun, Effort and Teamwork. A simple formula which has resulted in several championship appearances and several banners over the years.
Patrick’s passion for Hockey and love for the game began as a young child growing up in NYC playing roller hockey in his local park and going to games at MSG. While attending Fordham Prep high school in the Bronx, he went on to play on the junior varsity and varsity teams in lacrosse as a middie, and hockey as a defensemen. While attending CU Boulder, he played on several hockey intramural teams and pick-up games as a goalie.
As an architect by trade with a degree in Kinesiology, Patrick applies his professional skills into his coaching style; composing practices that build upon the area of needed focus which include components of skating, skill and game-like scenarios to enhance vision, skating, hands and physicality. As head coach of the 10UA Girls team, he and his team of coaches emphasize the athletes to play the sport with confidence, team cohesion and fun… lessons that will serve them well in hockey and life. We want our players to love the game and miss their teammates when they are not together, accept and learn from mistakes, and have a desire to be the best they can be.

Sean Richardson
Associate Coach
I’ve been playing hockey for over 30 years, and the game continues to be a huge part of my life. I still play in multiple adult leagues, which helps me bring a current, player-minded perspective to coaching while emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and a true love for the game.
My coaching journey includes four years working with midget-level players in Grand Junction, followed by seven years coaching at Hyland, where I’ve been closely involved in my son’s development and now have the opportunity to help with my daughter’s team as well. Coaching across different age levels has given me a strong understanding of long-term player growth from building foundational skills to developing advanced game concepts.
Hockey has always been more than just a sport to me, it’s my happy place. The rink is where I can quiet the world, focus, and find balance. The culture and community of hockey have given me lifelong friendships and a true second family that extends far beyond youth hockey.
As a coach, my goal is to help players grow not only as athletes, but as teammates and confident young people, while creating the same positive, lasting hockey experiences that made the game so meaningful in my own life.
