Locker Room Information and Resources

The Colorado Amateur Hockey Association is adding requirements to assist in creating safety in the locker room setting for youth hockey. Colorado youth hockey had the 2nd most reported Safe Sport incidents in locker rooms this last season in the United States. In the state with the most reported incidents, they are now assessing fines to teams when there is an incident of safety in the locker room. While these requirements are more stringent than the USA Hockey and US Center for Safe Sport policies, they are being implemented in an effort to decrease safety issues in the locker rooms for Colorado youth hockey players.

The current changes include:

  • Having two locker room monitors who have been screened on the USA hockey roster for approval.
  • Same gender locker room monitors
  • Locker room monitors inside the locker room
