Five years ago, Hyland embraced the need for SafeSport training and we rolled out an association-wide in-person training program for parents, players, coaches and anyone who even remotely interacted with our members.
Prior to the 2018-2019 season, HHHA provided SafeSport training for all parents, players and coaches. In lieu of a formal training for parents and players who participated in the training last year, a SafeSport Acknowledgement is being provided. This will serve as a reminder and a refresher about the importance of SafeSport to our organization. All parents, players and coaches will be required to review and sign the acknowledgement. Parents and players that are new to HHHA or are entering their first year of Squirt level play will be provided formal SafeSport training in October 2019.
The Hyland Hills Jr. Hockey Association is committed to improving the development, safety and welfare of its players and all members involved in hockey and our organization. Therefore, it supports the USA Hockey SafeSport Program and CAHA SafeSport Program and requires all players, coaches and members to fully participate.
If a conflict arises involving hazing, bullying, threats, harassment, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, it needs to be reported directly to SafeSport. The SafeSport Incident Report should be emailed directly to Safesport@hhha.org. If there is an immediate concern, contact one of Hyland’s SafeSport Coordinators directly: Stefanie Curry @ (720) 256-4300 or Jerry Jason @ (303) 570-5787. There is also a SafeSport app called Player’s Health Protect, which can be used for reporting an incident. Click here for the app on Apple devices. Click here for the app on Google devices.
