Coaching Requirements

Please fill out the coaching interest & application form prior to registering for ANYTHING. Once you are approved to coach for the 2024-25 season you can proceed to the next steps.

All coaches are required to register with USA Hockey as a Player/Coach. Cost is $46 plus any affiliate fees if applicable. You will be prompted to enter your USA Hockey confirmation number into your Hyland Registration and SafeSport Training.

When prompted to select a participant to register, select yourself OR choose + NEW PARTICIPANT and add your name and information for this coach registration.

THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL, WE WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR USAH NUMBER AND CEP INFORMATION IF YOU DON'T REGISTER WITH HHHA.

This must be completed before you can be placed on the team roster. 

Background screens through NCSI under the national program will cost $30 for all domestic screens. A cleared background check is required PRIOR to being added to a roster. Screening is good for two seasons. NCSI will not allow you to complete a new background screen if your previous screen is still valid.

This must be completed before you can be placed on the team roster. 

The SafeSport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for twelve (12) months beginning on 4/1/22. Completion certificates must be emailed to registrar@hhha.org

There is a core course followed by three refreshers - only ONE course needed per season. Once you sign in you will be automatically directed to the appropriate course.

This must be completed before you can be placed on the team roster. 

• One time requirement per module, $20.
• New modules are – 8 & Under; 12 & Under; 13 & Over. 
• Old modules are still valid. For instance, a coach with an existing 10U module would be eligible to coach at 10U without taking the new module. However, if the same coach now wants to coach 12U they will need to complete the new 12 & Under module.

Available September 1st - December 31st.

Coaches have until 12/31 to complete/update CEP. Any coaches with expired CEP’s will be removed from the ice and rosters on January 1st (exception is 8U). 

Needs to be completed yearly per Colorado State Law. Please send a copy of certification to registrar@hhha.org
