Girls Hockey
“A Girl Who Plays Hockey,” Just Like other Girls but cooler!
Hyland Hills Girls Hockey fosters a fun and empowering environment for girls of all ages and skill levels to learn and love hockey. We develop confident athletes through teamwork, sportsmanship, and high-quality coaching, on and off the ice.
Mission Statement: The Hyland Hills Girls Hockey Program is dedicated to developing confident, resilient young women through the game of hockey. Serving athletes ages 4 to 19, we offer a clear path from Learn to Skate to Tier II and high school competition, all within a positive, inclusive environment.
Vision Statement: To build Colorado’s most trusted and development-focused girls hockey program where young athletes grow from their first stride to high-level competition through a foundation of skill development, integrity, and opportunity. The Jaguars grow the game by doing the work, not by taking shortcuts.
Girls Hockey Director: Taylor Hoy
A native of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Taylor Hoy grew up playing Tier I hockey in Kingston and the Greater Toronto Area. Hoy discovered a passion for coaching after volunteering with first-time skaters while attending the University of Toronto.
Program Advisor: Jordan Smith-Slavin
Jordan Smith-Slavin is from Erie, Colorado and played her youth hockey for the Hyland Hills Jaguars, Colorado Thunderbirds and Colorado Select Tier I Program. She is a former collegiate ice hockey defenseman and coach. She played for the University of North Dakota (UND) women's hockey team from 2009 to 2013. During her freshman year, she was selected to represent the United States at the 2010 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship.
Goalie Clinics
All HHHA goalies are able to attend weekly goalie specific trainings at no additional cost.
Jerseys
Practice jerseys are included with this program however game jerseys are not included.
We currently offer girls teams for all ages above 8U. We have many girls who play in our 8U program but we do not currently offer all girls teams for those ages. There are however opportunities throughout the season for our 8U girls to participate in all girl events and friendlies with other area associations.
10U and 12U
USA Hockey considers all Girls hockey in the 12U age classification and below, all Girls hockey in the 14U to 19U age classification except for Girls 14U to 19U Tier I and Tier II teams, and all Girls High School and Prep School hockey, to be Recreational Hockey.
The 10U and 12U teams will play in the Rocky Mountain Hockey Federation (RMHF) Girls Division. Hyland differentiates our 10U and 12U teams using the “A” designation because they are not traveling out of state like the 14U and 16U teams, unless we were to win the Rocky Mountain Silver Stick qualifier.
